The Meal Master is our simplified meal management tool that generates 3 fixed carb amounts to replace precise carb counting for users of the MiniMedTM 780G system, aged 12 – 18 years, based on the study by Petrovski et al1. In just 3 quick and easy steps, this tool will generate 3 fixed carb amounts for your patients who cannot or do want to carb count. All you need is one weeks' worth of estimated carb intake data for your patient.

How to use the Meal Master tool

Simply confirm your patient’s age, add their estimated total average daily carbohydrate intake for 1 week and click on the “Calculate”. The tool will generate 3 fixed carb amounts for your patient.

Thereafter, your patient can estimate the relative size of their meals and enter one of these three carb amounts into the Bolus Calculator of the MiniMedTM 780G system, rather than entering the precise carb amount.

The Meal Master Tool is based on the study by Petrovski et al.1 This tool is available to use for adolescents (12 – 18 years of age) on the MiniMedTM 780G system with continuous glucose monitoring and using SmartGuardTM Technology with Auto Corrections turned on. The average total daily carbs must fall between 123 – 325g in order to use this tool. The patient’s carb diary must contain at least 5 consecutive days of entries.
